Starting off the year right.
Bought the cats a new cat tree. The old one was cardboard tubing and was coming apart. I was going to rebuild it, but we found this one in Costco on NYE day, and it was cheaper to buy than build a new one. Plus Dexter loves the rounded top shelf, even though he does not fit completely in it. And he's the smaller cat.
For those of you who have not met him, this is our newest addition. He showed up in our yard several months ago, sick and literally starving, with canine bite marks all over him. He still likes being in the yard, but he's trying to learn how to be a house cat, too, now. It's a process... and he's having a lot of struggles with behaving himself. He's very reactive. Like an old soldier with PTSD. Ronnie and I have scars to prove it, literally. But he's learning. It's just hard because he wants petting so much and wants to be close, but he reacts with tooth and claw sometimes mindlessly, and then obviously regrets it. We get into battles more than he and Ronnie do, which is odd. But here's Paws, named by Ronnie's granddaughter.
And of course we got Zola a new orthopedic bed. Nice and cushy for those bones of hers. I'll try to remember to take a pic soon.
