reflecting to try to make the good outweigh the bad
bad things that happened today
waited all day to hear back if my car was ready to be picked up
paid a bunch o money to pick up my car - new starter, two new tires
the 'brake pulsations' will continue unless i put in another $200+
found out that the wedding dress i bought was mislabeled and is actually the wrong size
waited all day to hear from my doctor about some prescriptions that i am trying to renew (they were expired) and have been trying to renew for several weeks
had a very unpleasant conversation with a nurse at the doctor's office, and she hung up on me.
didn't get my prescriptions
the guy across the street is a friendly neighbor but makes me paranoid about the looks of our house... he's always working on our other neighbors' yards... and he's always hanging out on his front stoop.
the house is still a big fat dirty mess, and i didn't do laundry or practice - or mow

i could afford to get my car fixed
my car has been deemed able to make it until spring '10, my target time for a new car (taking any/all suggestions and recommendations - i think i want a hybrid sedan... definitely something bigger than my compact Chevy Cavalier and more environmentally friendly)
cleaned and put away many awesome gifts from the shower yesterday :)
the Home Depot windows guy came and measured. they will order the parts, and we are go for scheduling an appointment.
Cara stayed over since the shower :)
Cara made biscuits for breakfast!
Rob went to work a little bit late so he could meet the windows guy also, and this meant he had biscuits with us
Cara and i played palisades (fun card game)
had lunch with Cara, my mom, Senta, and Rosie :)
took Rosie for a walk to the pond with Rosie and fed the ducks
watched Battlestar Galactica (season 4, episode 8, for those curious and also addicted) with Rob over dinner
not as bad of a day as i originally thought.
a 'rich and full day', as my dad would say.
EDIT: i just got the dress in the right size today (7/25). phew! also, after all the back-and-forth, my doctor's office sent in the prescription, but only for ONE of the THREE that i asked for. stupids!
