we took a trip to cb this weekend for rim and kobbs wedding.
it was rainy most of the time but it was still a great trip.
we drove down with shawn friday morning with a full van of 8. it was a super loud super stoned drive down which made me really tired by the time we got to syds. highlights of the drive were all stopping in Antigonish at this neat cafe for sandwiches and then having college kids wanting jobs give us timbits and lemonade.
it wasn't raining much or at all for friday so we showed up to the christie/devon/camille residence and hung out on the new back deck. they recently bought a mini BBQ from superstore so we grilled up some delicious veggie dogs, sausages and burgers along with some roasted zucchini, mushrooms and red pep.
greg brought his skateboard and after one failed attempt earlier in the day, by night we found the skatepark. we had fun faking that we could actually skateboard and creeping ourselves out by all the sketchy cars pulling up and graveyard adjacent.
when we got home there was a huge deck party that lasted pretty late into the night and sadly caused a little insomnia for some.
saturday morning faked us out by looking kind of clear/sunny while we went to the market (yummy fruit crepes breakfast and the purchase of honey and good bread) later the clouds revealed themselves as bastards and started to pour. we sat around for awhile back home and slowly got ready for the ceremony at 4. everyone had a terrible time deciding what to wear and some last minute walmart trips sealed the deal.
although it was moved inside the place still looked beautiful, everything was flowers and candles and lights and dressed up indie rock kids. a short but sweet ceremony took place followed by devotron dj'd dinner/reception and party.
siobhan and i ducked out early and fell asleep to a few episodes of the office. later on i got to go designated driver the party back to the house in chrisie's awesome volvo wagon (even when those cars are in rough shape they still ride smooth). an even bigger party broke out and caused even more insomnia along with a little blood shed.
on our last day we went to the flea market and got a few little scores, i picked up a toolset that i've been needing for 10 bucks and we bought a little plant to bring home but forgot it on christie's front porch.
the ending highlight was getting to eat at this awesome front lawn cafe that camille's professor recently opened. she had deliciouse home made authentic mexican food which filled out stomachs spicily. she was really nice and her husband really liked us when he found out we could handle the spicy, he kept bringing us different hot sauces from his own kitchen to try with out quesidillas and nachos.
i loves me some cb.
check out the pictures.
