Rearranging My Playlist

Sep 02, 2010 16:46

As the fickle minded that I am with my iPod, I decided to bring back the mirror playlist of my club music. I had it once on my iPod classic which has a decade’s worth of music! =))

I restricted myself in doing it again since I only have 32GB of space and that includes applications and pictures. When I had my new iPod, I started with placing EVERY J-Pop that I liked and KINDA liked but that turned out to be a bust. So now I only have the music that I listen to and like plus the club music that I love so much. Looking at the free space I still have like more than half to fill up. So I decided to bring back the mirror playlist.

The mirror playlist is the exact same club playlist only in its original form. Like with Jennifer Hudson’s Spotlight (Moto Blanco Club Mix) is accompanied with Spotlight. But as I add these mirror playlist, I kinda got OCD and trying to download their album discographies as well, LoL! So I’m taking my time to get these mirror playlist done. I bet it will take me the whole BER months to fix this because there are a lot of things to get done.

Here are the OCD steps in completing a mirror playlist:
01. Select an artist from the club playlist to mirror.
02. Check wikipedia for the artist’s album discography
03. Select album no.#
04. Download the selected album
05. After the download, unzip file and verify the tracks
06. Compare the downloaded tracks against the wikipedia tracklist
07. If the bonus tracks aren’t in the zip files, located them track by track via web
08. Download the track/s
09. Check if the quality of the downloaded tracks are the same as the ones in the zip
10. Re-download if the quality is bad
11. Repeat steps 3-10 until all albums are downloaded (except of albums beyond 1990)
12. Convert the tracks to 128KBPS
13. While converting, locate album/single art covers (more or less should be the original)
14. Once everything is done, open iTunes and add the tracks
15. Add the proper tags (Title, Year, Artist, Album, Genre, Track Number, Album Art)
16. Delete the tracks and place the files to [Artist Name]\[Album] directory
17. Select the same songs as the club songs
18. Copy files to the club song folder
19. Add files to itunes and fix the tags according to my iPod rules (e.g Track no. by release of single)
20. Don’t forget to make the tracks “As Part of Compilation”
21. Sync tracks to iPod and viola!
22. Wait there’s more… backup the previously downloaded remix tracks (I have tons)
23. Do the same process of converting and adding the proper tags
24. Place everything to my external drive.

Hahaha! Crazy! I think that covers everything. That’s not really the step by step but more or less that’s how I do it. Sometimes there are bonus tracks that I can’t find. I just skip them after trying my very best. And as you can see, I didn’t list “listen to the songs” because I don’t! Hahaha! I only listen to the mirror playlist. It just feels nice to have them stored somewhere. Perhaps when I’m retired, I’ll be able to listen to them. XD. But I randomly select songs to play while I fix the tags or search for the other albums. =))
