Geek Wed^H^H^HTuesday

I used to think of Wednesday as my geek day. Going to the comic book store is a pretty geeky (and fun) experience. Today trumped that in a major, major way.

Macworld San Francisco is going on this week and today was the primary keynote address by Steve Jobs. There has been a load of rumor and speculation about what would be announced. Would it be Intel based laptops? Would it be a free .mac service? No one was really sure. I, as well as lots of my friends and co-workers, were hoping for the Intel based laptops. Well we got our wish. Following is a list of the announcements that I find relevant:

There was no live video feed or media coverage so we needed to find a way to get the news as close to live as possible. This is where the geek really took off. I downloaded and installed an IRC client and got a text feed from Mac Rumors. It was great.

The bad thing is it will be a while before the Apple site gets my credit card info. They are all more money than I can spend right now. It is good to dream.
