I have been primarily a Unix sysadmin for the last 6 years. Windows isn't new to me but I like what being a Unix admin is all about. I like the openness, the power of the system. Sigh. It would take a long time to list all the things I like about being a Unix administrator.
My company made a decision this week to change product platform from
Irix (which was actually changing to Linux) to Windows. Also to change development language to
C# "Unix administrators can switch to Windows systems without much effort. Our fundamentals are stronger"
-jeffx in a conversation with friends over beer.
"root > administrator"
- t-shirt idea from jeffx
Looks like I might have to do the proverbial putting money where mouth is.
