Connections
I just finished reading F*uck Big Media: Rolling Your Own Network then combined that with Mind Gangsterism (2, 3, 4) and it got me thinking. When it comes to creative entertainment, I suck.
I have tried (and am trying) writing, music, and even drawing. I don't have much of a talent for it (we will just have to wait and see with the fiction writing). What I can do is make computers do things that a lot of people can't. Then I realized there are lots of people like me who can make computers do things.
There is also the reverse situation, people who are creative but can't make a computer power up, poets. These 'poets' have a message they want to get out. These 'poets' have a dream for ways to use the technology that we geeks can control. Combine the geeks and the poets and we can fuck big media.
How do geeks and poets meet? Here i my idea. I am going to create a connections site were geeks can enter their skills and talents so poets can find 'em to get their creations distributed. On the other hand the 'poets' can enter their skills and talents so the geeks can find 'em when they have some newly created or cutting edge tech to role out.
I think I will bang out a beginning in my free time in Stockholm next week.
