You know when you hear a band and instantly remember how brilliant they are and wonder why it's taken so long to listen to them again? That. I don't think that sentence fits in the mood box here though, does it?
Anyway, somehow, it's been nearly a week since I last posted about life; I have been writing other stuff, in fact I've done a lengthy bit of writing in that time (that I need to read through before posting) and I've received a very generous Nanowrimo message from
aphroditemf thanks to her for that and for the add recently.
It's been a weird old day, Toni had to go to Hospital for a minor thing in the morning, I'm saying no more than she's ok and it's not serious, so hooray.
Afterwards, we went shopping in the seldom-seen Manchester sunshine, I ended up getting loads more than I expected - a pair of jean shorts, a polka dot work shirt, three pairs of awesome fitting comic strip boxers and a Simpsons t-shirt that is just covered in hundreds of characters from the show - including brilliant rare ones like the dolphins from the Halloween episode, Troll Moe and JONNY TIGHTLIPS! Superb!
My Mum and Dad also came round to visit today, we could only chat for a bit as Toni was feeling a bit shattered but they left a DVD player that they think is ours (but probably isn't!) and they are not using, which is utterly lovely (if a tad forgetful) of them.
On Tuesday, a box from eflorist.co.uk appeared on the porch outside our block of flats, it was in the wrong place. This is commonplace, as the next road parallel to us has the same title as our block, so even though the package said a different road/postcode, it was jettisoned carelessly here instead.
As I'm quite nice like that, I e-mailed eflorist.co.uk (who didn't bother to reply!) A lesson here must be - DON'T USE EFLORIST.CO.UK - they are a crock of shit! I digress, so I walked to the road parallel to us, found the block and got a neighbour playing football with his kids to let us through the gate.
It was a huge converted residential home, now split into 14 flats, his was number 16, so he lived in an outer building-cum-bungalow. By chance, I caught the fella just as he was heading out and joked when I handed them over that they weren't from me! He was happy to receive them and I felt cheery that a good deed was done. It also makes me think that possibly, other people would be kind enough to do that, if my post was wrongly delivered to them and not just steal it!
The trip and the sojourn round the corner also served to test my right hip out. It's still not 100%, which is why I'm off to the Doctors tomorrow at 8AM to try to extend the sicknote from my operation. I'm lucky enough to have supportive employers who pay me full wages (for up to half a year) when I'm sick for genuine reasons, so why not use it to get fully better?
Luckily, I've recorded 'First Dates' and can watch it later... the sacrifices I make for you guys ;)!
