Wuthering Shites..!

Sorry world, I just can't dig Kate Bush, I know she has an exceptional voice and all that plus she writes and produces all her own stuff (which I massively respect in ANY artist) but I just don't enjoy it.

The ridiculous last few weeks continued when Toni arranged to buy a car (pretty much without me knowing!), as her Dad's boss was selling his car.

With Toni working, I was invited along to view it, it's a pretty beasty 1.6L engine and is built like a the side of a mountain. Unlike my Mum's Toyota Yaris, it feels like it could take a knock or two, which is useful, if people are going to insist on driving head on in to me, like earlier this year!

So I went with her Dad to Leigh to view this car. It was in good condition so for £250, it was a bargain. Insurance for the year is £900, split two ways over a year, nice.

Although, the transaction took an odd turn when they admitted listing it on Ebay for £500, and having "foreigners" come round to view and offer less than the price and telling them to get lost! They would: "rather leave it on the drive than sell to one of those types!"

Racism isn't dead folks, it's just called UKIP these days...

The fella is putting it towards getting himself a scooter, he totally didn't look like the type of guy who'd buy a Vespa! He also called Toni's Dad 'Karl', which is peculiar as although it's his first name, everyone calls him his preferred middle name of 'Tony'.

Driving off, a tad embarrassingly, I couldn't find reverse and with the car edging closer to the front of his house, I thought it best to knock on again to ask about it! There's a ring on the gearstick that is apparently on all Renault Meganes that I had to negociate. The way home was at first, a bit ropey but after a drive to see my mate Alex for his birthday last night, I'm now comfortable with it. It's miles better than the Yaris!

Worryingly, I think Toni may also want to name the car too... Which she can do, as it's in her name (the flat is my name) but we split the cost of both. Suggestions welcome!

We are now married, own a car and a flat, I intend to wear as many cartoon t-shirts as possible, so adulthood doesn't seem so real, ha!

brum brum!, daft racists!, learning to drive, rock, toni
