Wow! Isn't it great when you put on an album that you've not listened to in ages and you realise that it's still brilliant and your taste in music isn't quite so terrible?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v57OrEhrQmM Oh, the sound is quiet and pisspoor on the video, so download it if you like and/or get the chance! They were dubbed 'Bolton's version of the Manic Street Preachers', not quite sure I concur with that...
Anyway, so Toni's been away filming in Darlington for the past couple of days, so I've had the chance to have the flat to myself. Which is why it's gone midnight, I'm cranking up the tunes and enjoying a nice bottle of Hoegarden remaining from Superbowl night to myself; she hates the breath wheat beer gives me! Shame it's so damn tasty!
I had an interview for some voluntary work for Childline today, which was exciting and linked in with the resolutions post earlier this week. I've been giving it some thought and part of my problem is definitely in my head. It took ages to secure permanent work after Uni so I didn't rate myself as particularly employable. Now, I'm striving to big myself up in my head and deem myself worthy to go for jobs (and voluntary jobs that will make it easier to move across to do things I want to do.) It's also fear of failure that holds me back, I know that I'm great at what I do currently, I've just got to risk being turned down a few times. My ego should be able to take that, right?
In lighter news, this happened this week:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oqXQjxDEan4 As a Seahawks fan of over two decades, my response was to explode, from the moment Peyton Manning conceded a safety with the first play. As a result of the Seattle Seahawks winning the Superbowl for the first time, I'm also £80 richer, I've fancied us to win since September, woop!
The night itself was ace, apart from
thelma_viaduct having work so not being able to watch it with us. Although it was awesome to hang out with Kate for the first time in ages and also
townsley_89 making a heroic trip over from Yorkshire to watch it with me and my Dad!
As is the tradition, me , Stevo and Towns went to the cinema hungover on Monday afternoon, if you're thinking of watching 'I Frankenstein', don't fucking bother. It's trite, dull and absolute tosh. Even Bill Nighy and millions of pounds of special effects can't save it from film purgatory.
And finally, hello
shinesparkle, nice to have you onboard! Bye bye,
ameliorate , another random deletion, hey ho!
