Unbelievably, in the matter of ten minutes or so, it will technically be my month anniversary of being married to
thelma_viaduct, it's not scary in the slightest, apart from how quickly time goes these days!
After stepping off the plane on December 11th and the resultant jetlag, Christmas (including buying all the gifts!) has taken over like a tsunami, which I'm glad of, as it postponed post-holiday blues, although how shit it will be once we hit the New Year (or after the UK wedding party, I just don't know!)
Speaking of which, did everyone get their invites? Or would anyone else want an invite to our wedding party in just 4 weeks' time?!
I even had a proper Christmas office party this year, which just ended in bizareness and my lesbian mate Kate having to take her partner home after she began to wear a McDonalds restaurant sandwich board over her head, on the downside, leaving me in Manchester with loads of beer I couldn't enter a pub with but also beer that she paid for, so it wasn't all bad!
Anyway, tomorrow in work, I have then got 4 days off, so apart from planning stuff to do with the wedding, I hope to do the usual end of year lists and for once have something for you to comment on! And also should probably post about the wedding and stag as promised...
Although seeing my family for the first time since the very early stages of Christmas Day, Swinton's first friendly of the season, Paul Worthington's Secret 40th Birthday and Frank Turner's intimate New Year's Eve gig in Manchester will probably cause distractions..!
And in globally important stuff, all the Armageddon party crews got it wrong again! Who would have thought that interpretation of thousand year old texts wouldn't get it spot on?!
Also, I wouldn't want to be Barack Obama at the minute but I bet the US gun lobby is delighted that this:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-20853624 Has appeared to distract the media from the potential gun law changes they wanted to enforce..! Here's my thoughts on it, hewed from a comment I posted earlier, in reaction to the NRA suggesting that more guns being available would reduce gun crime:
*sarcasm alert*
"They should give the kids guns too, that way they can shoot back when the gunman enters the classroom. Surely this is the natural progression of logic, following arming teachers and every other adult?! Why should we leave children unprotected, lets give them a gun as soon as they leave the womb..!"
*sarcasm alert*
For now, take care of yourselves and each other!
