Just Turning Up Makes Us Champion..!
There's something distinctly unsatisfying about winning a football league by ending the season with 3 10-0 forfeits... that could be the case with our 5 a side league this season.
Having said that, if it proves to be the only league winning team I'm a component of in literally decades of playing football, I'll take it! Hypocrite, moi?!
Of the remaining eleven games, we've won seven, drawn one and lost just 3 (and all of those when we've not had the full seven players) so I can justify it.
There's also the case that the results with the other team in the running haven't gone for us and we finish second, we'll find out next Tuesday (if we get any opposition..!)
Christmas was lovely, apart from when our housemate Jonny when he drunkenly trashed the tree on the night of the 23rd and I had to make him apologise, tidy up and then pay for any damage! It was chilled out apart from that, we avoided my Mum's cooking and still saw lots of Toni, both families and some mates too, perfect!
If you're wondering some of what I got, I was lucky enough to receive a pair of Lucky 13 trainers (with Jesus on them, which my religious Mother hates!), some awesome music (The King Blues, Jeffrey Lewis, Dinosaur Pile-Up) and Ferrero Rocher, who needs more than that?! As well as good company, eh?!
Back in work tomorrow (but it should be deathly quiet!) so I can listen to some more of The King Blues, woop!
