Sorry, It's Been Ages..!
Well, what's been going on? We've got a new housemate for a start, disregard those two people I mentioned in the last non-Swinton Lions update, they foolishly chose elsewhere! So, instead we have a Satan's Hollow DJ called Ander who coincidentally replaced someone we also knew, Mike Clapham who suddenly took off football to Americans who call football something else entirely different!
Anyway, he looks a bit emo but doesn't appear like a miserable get or up his own arse, so that's good! He seems to want to move in a week on Saturday so hopefully we'll get to squeeze a pint in with before then!
Speaking of Rock clubs, Rockworld has closed for good (apparently) which is a massive shame and I have many great memories of that place. So many great lost ones too! From Uni, the past few years and even with that cunt Sarah G, I'd probably count myself as a regular for 5 of the past 9 years since I first went so it's a gigantic part of my clubbing history! It's probably also there that I realised I lean slightly more to the rock/punk/metal side of music than indie, which was quite a revelation!
Me and thelma_viaduct were lucky enough to attend the last night (by complete chance!) for Stevo's birthday and to go there the Thursday before the Easter Bank holiday when instead of being 4 rooms, it was down to 1, should have seen it coming really..!
Hopefully, some good rock nights will spawn out of this debacle, I'm plotting doing one myself actually, I need to speak to some people who know more about the industry first though...
So, sorry gizzard , we won't be able to show you Rockworld but we will show you another rock type place whenever you show your face in Manchester and hello to little_cthulu who I added via a post about Jilly's demise on the Manchester LJ group!
Now, I smell political debate in the air, lets see if this three way live debate between Gordon Brown, David Cameron and Nick Clegg on ITV1 can manage to NOT be massively disappointing..!
