Good news at last! Now Toni has been made full time by the Council and I'm relatively secure at the Council part time, we hopefully will be moving out into an inexpensive shared house with some of our friends from Chorlton.
To some veteran travellers of this world who have lived in umpteen places and different countries like
thelma_viaduct , it's as regular as the first dump of the day to move out at least once every couple of years but to someone who has only lived in three different districts of Manchester in my lifetime - Swinton, Lower Broughton and Withington - in 5 different houses, it's a little daunting, not in a mind changing way though!
I'm a bit more wary after how the last shared house ended (but then grade A sociopaths are usually difficult to spot!) but this is the right move. I bet when Toni decided to move in with me and my parents as a "temporary measure" around a year ago, she didn't envision still being here when summer rolled around... again!
The longer I stay in Swinton, the more I realise the 'small town mentality' of it, to some there isn't an existence outside of it or Salford generally! It was one of the main driving reasons for moving out three years ago, I didn't want to grow old here having never experienced anything else or meeting new people. As inviting as it is to have plenty of mates around forever, they'll still be here, all things well, if/when we return, as Pottsy's travels have shown, it's like he's never been away...
Anyone ever lived in Chorlton? Any opinions on it or about anything above really..!
