I got back from my weekend in Boro yesterday. Oh it was fun....I think! haha.
The fun and frolics began at 8.30am on Friday when I caught my bus. And my headphones on my mp3 player decide to play up. NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! Depending on how i held the connection depended on how much the right headphone would work! oh well.
Got into Middlesbrough at 4pm and my mate si met me at the bus stop. We then picked up my friend lauren from the train station. Then it was off to the Southfield pub (our normal hangout other than the union). It was like a ghost town with no students around. Had a few drinks there and I found out what the deal with sambuca is lol. It's not that bad actually.
We then headed for Si's. Lauren wanted to watch the Big Brother final so we stayed in and had a few beers. The thing I found weird was that si had budgeted for the whole weekend and was buying us food and stuff. It was his birthday but wouldn't accept any money. We had a take away that night as well. Had gorgeous chips and curry! Ahhhh, I've missed the student lifestyle lol.
Saturday: We had an early start. Watched the beginning of Soccer Am at his then went into town. We were at the Southfield and found out they weren't showing the Sheffield Utd/Liverpool match (Sidenote: YES!!!! Football is back!) so we finished breakfast (yes I know it was 12 in the afternoon haha) adn went somewhere else. So we played pool, met up with some old friends and had a few pints. One of these friends was a good friend of john's. Lets just say some of the conversation from him was probing about the 2 of us. Would have been a lot more interesting if john was actually there lol. Then it was back to Si's for more drink and food. That was when the sambuca showed itself again. Oh man, it was horrible. The way it was poured, it took me 3 attempts to get it down. Bad, bad, bad. Add that to a lovely mixture of lager, and vodka & coke and I'm very surprised I was still ok. Probably cos it was spread throughout the day and the fact that I had the major munchies!!!!!!
We then headed out and met up with more people. It felt so good to see people again. Even though I've only been gone a couple of months I've missed them all so much.
The drink turned to double vodkas and red devil (apparently it's a cheaper version of red bull). Very fruity. It's quite nice. The venue then changed to The Crown. I love it there. Not fancy but the atmosphere is amazing. I got some videos of us all and, well, I think the birthday boy got a little bit worse for wear lol. Didn't get to bed then until 5am.
The thing that's got me is that Si, who drank a shit load, came bounding into mine and lauren's room, at 10am, and was acting as right as rain. We, on the other hand, were suffering. The only thing that was going through my head was "Oh god I have to work tonight". My dad came and got me, at 1pm, and I was still shaking. Granted, that was probably due to lack of food. I couldn't eat.
Until I got home that is. My mum had a full roast waiting. Ah it was gorgeous! One of the great reasons to still live at home haha.
Then work. The fact that the job is so boring meant it dragged. But I seemed to get a second wind when I got home. My brother had ordered Summerslam for us. Now I was going to watch it this morning butI stayed up for the whole thing, apart from the main event. I nearly made it. 4am I got to bed. I, personally, thought it was not good at all. The finishes, mainly, were terrible, guys (mainly Sabu) botched spots, Hogan's ego meant that Randy Orton had to lose to a cripple that had his knee damaged from simply sitting on a couch and, unfortunately, some of the matches got boring!!!!!! Not the best summerslam ever. But, tonight, Jeff Hardy returns! Yay!!!!!!
Now, it's time to look forward to Freshers Week. I'm going back up, along with a load of others. I can't wait.
