Thursday night I tore into the hot tub to get the motor and pump out, poked at it for a bit and got it to turn a little, ordered a new one. Also ordered the ReadyNas Thursday shortly after posting about it. Missed the shipment on Friday for the ReadyNas so I went out with
alyska and her coworkers for food and drinks, then it was home to sleep.
Saturday was up to Portage to get a truck load of barn boards. On the way back into town we stopped for some shopping and food at the IHOP, mmm omelet. Then it was home to find that FedEx made another delivery attempt and got the signed doortag, yay ReadyNas! I thought only the "Home Delivery" option got the Saturday delivery and not the plain "Ground". So I proceeded to setup and start filling the 500GB of mirrored goodness. I also filled out the form for the free 500GB drive that will upgrade it to 1TB of RAID5 goodness. While that was filling up I went out to play with a little 1/70HP AC motor (1725rpm) with a gear reducer (29rpm). I got it to spin after removing the reducing gear, although the shaft needs a flick to start spinning, so it may need some new brushes I think.
Today I tried to sleep in a bit and then went out to the garage to do more arranging and cleaning. I put most of the CA95 parts in the attic along with the pedal bicycles. I also hung a light up there so I could see what I was doing. This cleared up enough space to winterize and pack away the cycles and fit the lawnmower and snow blowers back in the garage. Then I unloaded the truck and stacked the wood on sawhorses next to the fence and covered them with plastic.
Now I think I'm going to putter around inside some more and do some more data arrangement on the NAS. Maybe clean the office a bit too. Whee!
