Got home from work and started wiring the GFCI/disconnect for the tub in the box on the outside of the garage.
angrybunnyman stopped by with the cedar and and whipped up a pair of vampire chicken stakes for their dinner this weekend. Then I went back to wiring. Managed to get the box finished up just before
alyska got back with dinner since anime was canceled for the night. I still need to connect the box to the breaker panel in the garage and connect the other end to the controller on the tub, but I'm now one step closer.
Woke up this morning to try out the new TivoToGo functionality that they finally added to the series3 to find out that I didn't have the update yet, but also that the tivo wasn't seeing the net. The router wasn't doing DHCP anymore as happens at times. So, I decided to finally get around to replacing it with the Airport Extreme I bought a few weeks ago. So I plugged in and configured the new base station and re-configured the Airport Express to act as a relay for it to extend the range, hopefully the old powerbook now works in the garage, not that I think I tried it before with the new stronger antenna, although it couldn't really see the Netgear wireless when it was about 6 feet away on the couch. This also means there are some active gigabit ports in the house now. I really need to go and label the jacks in the panel downstairs so I can connect them to the ones that the MacBook Pro might use, I think I might just go with the other plan and get a 16 port gigabit switch and make them all gigabit ^_^. Although even without the gigabit the wireless on the MacBook Pro should now be almost as good as the 100BT wired connection that the server has so that should be cool. So after all that putzing around and resetting the cable modem a few times so the AirPort got an IP address. Anybody want a possibly flaky (works fine most of the time, I don't know if it just doesn't like my powerbook) Netgear WGR614 WirelessG 4 port router? free for the taking.
Tonight is loading up the truck for the market in the morning and the possibility of piecing together the exhaust on the bench to make sure I have the right parts(says it is out for delivery), and doing some more tub wiring.
