Ninja 250

So, as indicated by the previous picture, the 250 is up and running again. Yay!

Last night I got home from work, parked the VFR and rolled the 250 out to ride it for a bit and fill it up with gas. I couldn't keep it running for very long. Then, when looking down for the idle adjustment screw I saw that the fuel line and the petcock vacuum line weren't connected. Hooked them back up and all was better. The clutch was feeling really funny and I wasn't getting a lot of power from the bike, and it wasn't all that I was just used to the VFR. While I was changing the oil I noticed the clutch side of the engine was *really* hot. I waited a bit for the engine to cool after changing the oil and then I set about inspecting the clutch adjustment. Yup, way off, so far off that it was never actually fully engaged, it was always slipping, whoops. So, I adjusted it and did a few friction zone runs around the driveway, much better. I might have to take a closer look at the clutch plates and springs sometime as the tension wasn't much and it didn't seem to want to snap fully back even after the adjustment.

This morning I put my lunch in the topcase, fired up the bike and let it warm up to a nice idle. I normally don't have to wait that long or fiddle with the choke on the VFR (it doesn't even have one, yay fuel injection!). Then it was off to work. No problems at all and just a nice cruise.

Last night I also held up the Wingrack off of the ZX6 up to the 250, and it doesn't look like it should be too big of a deal to mount it up. Sounds like a job for a TIG welder.... ^_^
