i had a good halloween last night, and im not hung over this morning! (no alcohol involved!) maryam and i went a holloween special at the movie theatre on campus (the PFA), they showed a bunch of scary/trippy short films from the 60's to the present. it was CRAZY! there was this one (called Ursula) about this little girl and her crazy mom, they lived in a scary house with all broken windows and stuff, and the girl fell out of a tree and ripped her dress. the crazy mom was like "it can never be mended, go get me your pet bird" and she proceeded to cut off the bird's wing, killing it... "should we go get some glue and mend the pretty bird? no? see, nothing can ever be mended!" then the girl went and caught a frog and named it Ursula, the mom ended up chopping its head off (screaming "Ursula, of course, Ursula, AHHAAAAHAHA") finally the girl got this huge knife and stabbed the mom... the ending shot was the girl rocking back and forth in a ball saying "the naughty girl gets punished, the naughty girl gets punished" (which is what her mom kept saying to her). that one was published in 1968 by ABC! family broadcasting my ass.
my interview at UT HSC San Antonio (you-teh-skuh, they call it, which got annoying) went well, the med school was great, but the location isn't the best. i like dallas and houston better. becky and i had tons o' fun on the riverwalk and at this *authentic* mexican restaurant, the queso we ordered was just melted jack cheese on a plate that had hardened by the time we tried to eat it... at least i ordered a corona with out them carding me. and we saw "the prestige" which was pretty good, though a little long.
i have tons of studying to do for a midterm tomorrow that i need to start doing. blech. so i better go take a shower and start my day... at 1:30pm.
