Ok so I haven't written in a while, but I think this deserves writing about. This morning I was in the office and Mr. Dallas (my Store Manager) comes in and out of nowhere asks me how far I'm willing to go to get promoted to manager. I told him that south, I would probably go as far as Edgewater/New Smyrna. Then he asked, "What about north?" So I said that Halifax Plantation (Volusia/Flagler border) would probably be as far north. Then he replied, "What about Palm Coast?" I said probably. The he started trying to persuade me. "Palm Coast is only about 25 miles one way. And it's all interstate driving." I said true... Yeah I could do Palm Coast. Then he said that I would have a different District Manager and he asked me how I would deal. I told him that it'd be the same policies except a few minor things and new people, so I could handle it. Then he says, "OK, just wanted to see." Then he leaves. About 5 minutes later he comes back and says to not mind his "stupid questions."
OK.... so if you were in that situation, how would you take those questions? Especially seeing how I'm going for management and I am 3rd on the selections list. Everyone that I've asked would have taken it the same way I did... they are probably focusing on promoting me.
Just thought I'd share. Woo hoo!!! I might be getting promoted soon!!!
