The conqueror, smug and proud, called to his men,
with a firm, stern command, "Find the Savages!"
And off they went, heads down and feeling bent,
Criminals, better off dead.
Through the thick of the mud boots got stuck,
Weathered and beat, the men began to weep.
From the top of a rock, the conqueror shot,
"Onward! Find the Savages!"
As they fell upon the tribe, like sheep, fast asleep,
Fires started; the women and children began to weep
From the top of a hill, the conqueror spilled,
"Spare not a soul! Kill them all."
The damage was done and the land was razed,
Not a remnant remained, the conqueror expected praise,
From the tops of bodies, the conqueror said haughtily,
"I've done my duty. I've given you land"
Then God punched the conqueror with his big hand and shouted, "FOOL! Not like that."
I got bored as hell and I started thinking about indians and thanksgiving and all that. When I thought about it, I compared new world conquerors to a lot of pastors today in the christian church. I think christians go about missions and evangelizing completely the wrong way. And pastors lead these misinformed people into a hunt to find the non-believers and CONVERT CONVERT CONVERT when there is rarely any love or sincerity involved. It's all just a number game. Oh, well.
God Bless.
