Yeah, I've been lazy and haven't updated this thing in.. wow.. almost 3.5 months. Long story short... major stuff happened:
I bought a house in Boise, Idaho. Maybe I covered that already :).
My wonderful girlfriend Kim is out here interning this summer with Micron, so we can spend some time together.
I went with her a few weeks ago to Iowa.. she was the maid of honor in one of her good friend's weddings.
Got to see Steven and Beth (well, for a little bit) when I was out there, which was cool.
I guess the major thing that is occupying my life is my job. I'm a process engineer at Micron Technology here in Boise. I work in a cleanroom environment - one of the fabrication areas, or "fabs" for short - I wear the bunny suit and all - it's not that bad. I started for the first couple months working with the technicians, doing repairs and preventative maintenance on the tools, and really enjoyed it. As of two days ago, I was moved up (quicker than usual) to the engineering side. So far, my job consists of looking at control charts for the various processes and making sure that things are running as they should. If not, (eventually) I will make small adjustments to certain parameters to try and bring things back in control. So far, I liked being with the techs much better than what I am currently doing. I was kind of thrown into it because the more senior engineer moved to a different shift. It was really intimidating at first because there was a big learning curve, and I was really just thrown right into it with minimal training (I hate being undertrained). However, each day it gets a little easier. I think eventually I'd like to get into more of the design side - how the chips are made, ways to make them better, etc. I work Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and every other Wednesday, 6:15am-6:15pm. The early mornings suck, but the 12 hour shifts really aren't that bad. The 3/4 day weekends are NICE.
Other than work, Kim and I have just been hanging out, enjoying each others company. We've taken a few side trips to see some state parks, a vineyard, and some sand dunes. We're planning a weekend trip next weekend as well. We're having some friends over Friday night for a BBQ which should be cool. Kim is headed back to school in about two weeks. She'll be back at ISU this fall to finish up her degree(s). It'll suck being without her for that length of time, but she is going to try and come back here in January. I already have plans to visit her and her family over Thanksgiving, see her for her Graduation, then spend a few days with my parents for Christmas.
I've been getting my house fixed up the way I, or, well, WE, like it. Our commute to Micron is about 20 minutes, and about 20 minutes to downtown, 10 minutes to the mall.. it's nice. We're in a new subdivision on the southwest corner of Boise. Traffic isn't too bad, and the area is really pretty. I like it. It's definitely different being out of school, and of course being "on my own." I had learned to be fairly independent already, so it wasn't a major shock.

I'll try and update this thing more often :).
