Life with Kim the past week has been great. We've been together a lot, but still manage to get our homework done.. mostly. We trade off who makes dinner, which has been really fun. Friday night I first went to an FAC for AIChE at Pizza Pit, so that was fun to see everyone there, including some who had been working/abroad the past semester. A bunch of them were going out to the bars which would have been fun, but oh well. Around 6:30pm I went and got Kim and met up with Steven and Beth at Hickory Park for dinner. Kim hadn't been there in a long time and I haven't been there in a while.. it's always a good place. We then rented March of the Penguins and watched it over at their place. It was a good movie and well done, but I thought there'd be a bit more to it.

Saturday Kim and I went down to Des Moines in the afternoon. We went to CostCo first and I got some supplies.. toilet paper, dishwasher detergent, a nifty spice rack, a big tub of cashews, a large bottle of vodka, honey nut cheerios, a neat Thai pasta, some microwavable chili, and I think that was it. CostCo is always fun. And now I have my own CostCo card, which is cool. Then went to the Jordan Creek mall which was right next door and walked around for a bit. I had to pull her away from the Hellsberg Diamonds Store.. not just yet. We had dinner at Cheesecake Factory which is always a good place. We split the fried macaroni appetizer and a thai chicken pasta which were both quite tasty. Then went to Cold Stone Creamery and got some ice cream to bring back with us. It's a long drive down there... but was a fun day with her.

Today I'm going to try and do some homework for a couple hours, then Kim and her roommates are doing fondue, which should be fun. Her brother has been writing FORTRAN code all weekend, so we might walk over to his apartment after a bit to see him. It's a really nice day today.. it's 54 right now.

So, onto the subject, which has no meaning until now. My beloved doggie Bandit hasn't been doing well lately. He's licking his feet again, rubbing the fur off his tail, etc. He's been having these same allergy issues for a while now, and just don't seem to be getting any better. My parents are going to meet with the vet on Tuesday to see if there is anything else they can do. But, they have to make the decision to put him down. Or, send him to the happy hunting ground as my mom puts it. I cried on the phone and for like 15 minutes after hearing all of this.. my little puppy. We've had him for almost 11 years (he'll be 11 on March 9th). We've had some really fun times with him. Kim came over right after I talked to them, so she made me feel better. I'll really need her on Tuesday when I find out how the visit with the vet went. I'll try not to worry too much about it until then, but it's hard. Of course I turned on the TV this morning and there was a dog show.. Jack Russell Terrier racing nonetheless. It was kind of funny.. they would run really fast, jump two hurdles, and then the first one who fit into this small hole at the end won. But one dog decided to go around all of the hurdles, two got tangled up and rolled all over each other... so it was kind of cute, too.
