I am up waaaaaay too early...

Yesterday. GOOD DAY.

It started out crappy - a whole bunch of complaints came in - on my providers. Luckily, I was out doing inspections, so other people started my investigations. This worked out really well, since I had to leave early to go pick up Debbie and Lily for our adventures in Clifton Park.

We arrived at about 4 ish and since the concert (10 Year Vamp, Gavin Degraw and David Archuleta) doors didn't open until 5:30, Lily said she was in the mood for Ruby Tuesday's or TGI Friday's. Well Ruby Tuesday's was first in the tom tom so we preceded there, where we were seated next to...

DAVID ARCHULETA!!!!!!

Lily's face - super expressive. He left for sound check, and when he came back, I used my powers of peer pressure to persuade her to go get his autograph. From then on, we all considered the night a success.

Now, a bit of a veering to the back story...

So last Saturday I went to the Nutcracker with Sam (the girl I work with) and her friend Erica. Sam decided I need to go to Uno's for their awesome dessert. So we sit down, waiting for Erica, and Sam gets up to use the facility. The waiter comes over, and I tell him that this is all an elaborate ploy to make it look like I have friends: coats on the chairs, extra place settings, etc. So we enjoyed some banter and flirtation, and I was all, wow. He's kinda cute. So I was saying this to Sam and Erica and then, after I paid my check...

I left my number on the back of the bill.

Now, as part of my therapy, I have to do things that take me out of my comfort zone. This def does. The point is, I figured, either he calls me or he doesn't. If he doesn't, I bet I made him feel pretty flattered. Besides, I need to take more chances.

Yesterday evening, he texted me. :-) And Debbie squeeled loudly when he asked me out. We're going out Saturday.

His name is John, he's 25. He's going to school for business. He's pretty sweet. He was like, I wanted to call you the next day, but that would've been weird. He's had finals too - Debbie was chatting with him as I drove home, and she wanted him to send a pic, and he sent this totally goofy one. She wrote that she was unsatisfied and he said, That's the only one on the phone and I am not taking a pic right now. I've been up for two nights and I look like a crackhead. He's got a solid sense of humor, which I appreciate.

But yeah. That's what made me smile.
