Odds and Ends

Here it is, it's Friday night, and I'm sitting on Over Opinionated Girl's house, playing on the internet, whist my clothes toss and turn in the laundry and dryer machines. Now, I had options for tonight... my friend and co-worker Tinkles McGee- the potty mouthed Irish strangler from Main was/ is going to Matt Pond PA/ Youth Group at the Gypsy Tea Room tonight along with her fiance' the cyborg shark guy, and my other co-worker Pre-Rejector. I had my dancing shoes all laced up, ready for a night on the town with the kids and their hoppity-hop music, but then I remembered that 1) dirty clothes ain't gonna clean themselves, and 2) Tomorrow is the big fun St. Paddy's day Parade/fun run. I'm sort of ready. I'd hoped I'd be a bit more ready by this point in the year, but eh, what are ya gonna do? I'm not the world's biggest fan of running, I don't mind it, but if I had to choose between running and say a bucket of fried chicken... well, it'd be a hard decision. Here's the bummer about tomorrow... St. Paddy's Day Parade in Dallas, TX... tomorrow's weather forecast calls for partly cloudy skies with a high of around 82 degrees... sunny, beautiful, kind of warm day, beer, fun, and most important, at least for me... girls. I heart girls, and while I still look a bit out of shape, tomorrow I'll have a shirt and a four digit number that will let everyone know that I'm at least someone who enters into 5 k runs... that makes me interesting... I hope. BUT, (doom and gloom music)... I have to work tomorrow!!! My bookstore thinks this is a good time to have a sale... they thought this last year when I ran the St. Paddy's Day Parade- then had to leave to go to work afterward too... I asked for the day off, but said I could help in the afternoon and night if absolutley needed... you know what worked against me?? Spring Break, and South By Southwest. You know what sucks? Working with college students who like to go to concerts. Apparently everyone had already asked off for the weekend... so, tomorrow, I get to get up early to run (and another thing, why do runners like to wake up so early??? what's up with that?) watch a bit of the parade, then run home, take a shower, and go to work... an almost exciting day... but not nearly as exciting as getting up early, running, watching the parade, drinking beer, flirting a bit, drinking more beer, flirting a bit more, drinking more, and waking up Sunday morning with a huge headace, and syphilis.
Finally, my cut finger is healing nicely. I'm now going without bandaid. My finger no longer sends sharp pains through my body everytime I bang my hand against something. So, thank you for all your well wishes, and thank you to that one lady from Rockwall who sent the casseroll... it was totally yumms!
