Ok, time for an update.
Mr. Air Conditioner is still broken. Big surprise, it's the compressor again. It turns out that there is only a 50/50 chance that a new compressor will work for more than a few months after the old one burned out. Apparently soot gets into the pipes, which will cause the new one to burn out as well. The only real way to solve the problem is to get a whole new unit, and even then it is only a 90% chance that it will work. So now we are waiting to hear from the warranty people and see if they want to try a new compressor again or just replace the whole unit. Given all the trouble that unit has caused since we moved here, I think it would be in their best interest to just replace the whole thing. But, that's their call, and we'll see what happens.
Since I have been having so much trouble keeping thoughts in my head, Dr. Handal decided to move me to another medicine. This is really the last chance. If the new medicine doesn't work for whatever reason, I'm pretty much out of options as there is nothing else to try. I'm hoping for the best, but I can't help but remember back to a few years ago, when my old doctor moved me to another medicine. That medicine made me sick for over a year, and to be honest I'm still not completely over it. I still get sick whenever I eat, and almost every morning I feel sick. So maybe this new medicine will work even better than what I'm on now. I go back to see him in a week because he wants to monitor the effects very closely to see if it helps my thinking. I'm keeping eight of my fingers and four of my toes crossed!
I also got to take a nice brain test today. I had to do things like remember words and pictures, and match symbols to numbers. It was ok, but unfortunately it didn't help pinpoint my problem any. I scored average in almost everything, except reaction time which was low average, and complex attention which was above average. Oh well :D
QOTD:
Shouldn't RCs be called Gamma?
in Microsoft's case: RC = Alpha, Release = Beta, Service Pack 1 = RC, Service Pack 2 = Release
