They've offered that class a few times now. I kinda wanted to take it in years past but never got around to it. Mikey loved it, though.

just look at the correlation between babylonian/Sumerian/Akkadian and persian gods and goddess and christian demons.
A lot of those gods became demons in judaism or in the case of islam just right out make into the devil (shaitan).
i.e. judain demon Azazel and the similarity to the Babylonian god Shamash. he is also known as Melek Taus who is concidered by the Muslims to be the adversary.

There are a number of theories behind the damnation in the Old Testament.

The Old Testament authors were very concerned with underpopulation, so any willful "waste" of semen was regarded as a serious crime.

Also, it was a common practice for some of Israel's neighbors (i.e., the Egyptians) to inflict sodomy as a punishment upon defeated soldiers as a sign of domination. The Israelites may have damned homosexuality because they saw it as an expression of contempt and scorn.

Finally, as may be most applicable today, the Israelites came from a patriarchal society, and homosexuality was interpreted as an insult to that. The top was using the bottom as a "woman," and the bottom was allowing himself to be used as a "woman."
