If you don't know what I'm talking about, it's not for lack of clarity on my part. Read the entry again. Or not; I'll summarize below.
First of all, I said straight out that I was not going to argue the merits of the SP phenomenon. If I choose to do so in the future, you'll see it here. I haven't decided that yet. So put it aside, because it's an attempt to change the subject, and I generally don't let people do that.
The point of this entry is the following: The more noise you make about the Sad Puppies, the more people will realize that they exist, and a certain proportion of these will decide to take their side, especially if you sound angry and use profanity. (Anger can change minds...but not generally in the direction that the angry intend.) By continuing to condemn them, you're giving them a fortune in free PR and building them a fan base. Is that what you want?
If not, the only thing you can do is remain quiet.
That's the whole entry in a nutshell. It has nothing to do with me, and in truth it's a general principle that has nothing to do with the Sad Puppies. Attacking people attracts attention, and attention is a two-edged sword.
“Ignore them and they'll go away” is no proper way to hunt witches. A burning and fearless zeal for absolute conformity to Correct Thought is the proper basis for judgment. Heresy - thoughtcrime - counterrevolutionary backsliders must be denounced vigorously! “If you're not for us you're against us” - and any in the choir who are not singing loudly enough are suspect!
In short, remember that while they'd probably agree with you all else being equal, these are people led and directed by those whose core identity is based upon being Perpetually Offended - and striving to outdo each other in self-righteousness is the only way to avoid suspicion falling upon themselves. They can't be sensible and dare not “remain quiet.”
Just ignore them and they'll go away. No, they won't. You seem mistaken about what we're confronted with. Read grrm. Read file770. Until you can't stomach any more (it won't take long), read VD.

I'm not sure I can be any clearer than that.
