CorelleWare really doesn't like getting dropped onto tile floors from any height. It's much more durable on vinyl or wood floors (I have some we're still using after 25 years).
Rubbermaid made melamine-style plastic bowls & plates a few years ago (I've got a set in the camping box), but it seems as though they're not made anymore.
IKEA (of all places) has some small plastic bowls -- they may be a little bit too deep for your desired usage though. Huh. Further poking about reveals these melamine bowls.
Have you ever considered stainless steel? There are lots of different shapes and sizes, and if the dog can destroy one you have bigger problems to worry about than a food bowl.
They're not cheap, and ultimately I'd need 20 or 25 of them, since we dishwash each bowl before using it again, and we don't run the dishwasher every day. Also, with a metal bowl, I'd start to worry about Dash chipping the floor tile while throwing it around. Melmac seems the perfect compromise, and I'll keep hunting for them until we get a big enough stack to keep eight clean ones available per day, which pretty much requires at least 16 in the stack, and preferably 24.
