This may be tangent, but have you seen LabVIEW? It uses a visual dataflow paradigm, and has a fairly low learning curve (for the basics, at least). We're using hit at Embry-Riddle to implement robot controls and operator interfaces.
When the iPad came out, one of my immediate reactions was, How about a pool for how many competitors will there be by its first birthday? About two weeks ago, ars technica (I think it was) announced two Android tablet projects from two big companies in one day in the same article. Further, I think some of the odd, deliberate limitations designed into the iPad to prevent it from cannibalizing too much of other markets are some of the best opportunities for differentiation.
