Living downtown is awesome, so far, and I've seen no evidence to the contrary. It's incredibly easy for me to get to work(I can see the Rose Garden and Coliseum from my window), which is a great relief for me.
I've been to a handful of places down there, and could actually take people out to have a good time. I haven't gone clubbing yet, but give me the appropriate entourage and it shall be so, I'll go by myself if the mood strikes me.
I'm accumulating furnishings for free as well. I got a nice marble top coffee table that needed to be glued back together, and a big ass comfy sofa that some bitch stole from her boyfriend, and left in the hall so someone would take it.
I'm getting to know some people in the building as well. Most of them are pretty cool, I'm going to break them of their bad etiquette, but I like them. They all hate the noise from the trains blowing their horns all day and night, but I think it's awesome, my windows even face one of the spots where they honk, and it's so loud... damn I love it.
I've been playing the violin a lot since i've been out on my own, it was silly for me to put it down in the first place, but I've still got it, I feel like i'm getting closer to the skill level I should have ot reflect the number of years I've known how to play. Funny how I used noise to create an escape for myself when I lived in a peaceful quiet place, and now use music to drown out the noise of the city... hahaha...
