So I saw a cat at the pound yesterday that might have been Linus. Unfortunately, it was hiding behind its carrier and the warning on the cage said feral cat! Mean! Do not touch! And they refused to let me see him or touch him, despite my clear disclaimer of liability. Whatever.

So I went by today with Becca to check him out. It's Linus, says she, and I concurred upon seeing him. Did the paperwork, took him home, let him out on the screened-in porch as the cleaners were coming by and I've got new carpet to boot. But now I'm not so sure. Certainly it looks like Linus, and was picked up in an area which is only a few miles from my house, so it's easy to imagine him having gotten there in a week. But he ran around the porch like he'd never seen it before, climbed every screen in sight, which Linus has never done. His gait is different, which could be explained by a shoulder wound, but his voice has an odd timbre to it. Maybe he's just wild after having been out so long, but I don't know. Reckon I'll know more after hanging out with him for a while tonight.

What a week. What a fucking week. But my house is now on the market and will start being shown on Monday. So just one more weekend of home repairs and I'm done.

I am tired. I am weary. I could sleep for a thousand years.
