Pray for the lost
If any of you have watched the news today you probably know about the school shooting in the heart of Amish country. A man walked into a single room school house, let all the boys go, and let four adults go as well, one a pregnant woman. Then he blockaded the door, lined the female children up, and shot them all, execution style. Two children died on the scene, one in the arms of a police officer. A teenage teacher's aide died en route to Lancaster General Hospital. Eight more were rushed to area hosptials. And now another little girl has passed away tonight at Hershey Medical Center. The youngest of the victims was only six years old.
This all took place about thirty miles from where I live. One of the victims was initially flown here to the hospital where I work, and then was transferred down to Children's Hospital in Philadelphia. This hits SO close to home now. I'm sitting here watching Fox News, where they're reporting live from the scene.
The Amish people are such a peaceful community. We go to farmer's markets all the time, buy their goods and produce, and this is just completely heartbreaking, not just for their community, but for this entire area. You think it can't happen near you, that it won't. But it did, and it's horrible. The wife of the shooter released a statement, asking for people to pray for him. Bullshit. Just fucking bullshit. He can rot in the deepest caverns of hell. He MURDERED, he SLAUGHTERED, he EXECUTED children. The youngest was SIX years old. These children did nothing and he just took their lives.
