I Can't bite my tongue, sorry!
So my apologies is this pisses anyone off on my flist, I know I have a couple Otalia fans on here, and give the state of the fandom the last 24 hours, I can't imagine on what side of the fence ya'll are falling with certain things that have developed. But I really just had to vent, and well, LJ drew the short straw.
Ya'll probably heard the news that Crystal Chappell has recently signed a deal to return to Days of Our Lives in the role that made her a household soap name. Thus it pretty much seals Guiding Light's fate. I don't pretend to know the details, but I can't imagine her making this kind of move if there was even a small chance that the Otalia storyline could continue.

Unfortunately the news has not gone over well with a select few. I expected a bit of a backlash, just because people are idiots, but I didn't expect it to piss me off as much as it is. People are being downright nasty, directed at CC. And it's just completely inappropriate and disrespectful.
This woman has gone so far above and beyond any actress, soap or otherwise, to interact with her fans and give back. I mean it kinda stuns me sometimes how accessible she really is. I remember back in the BAM fandom, we thought Eden and Liz were amazing, and CC blows them ridiculously far out of the water. So to see some people accusing her of 'using' her fans to ensure she has a built in following over on Days is just insulting and ridiculous. And it's pissing me the hell off.
And no, I've not been THAT Chappelled that I can't be objective about this. I'm just really really disappointed in some people's reactions to this. I understand being hurt and upset, it sucks that something with so much promise is getting cut short. But be angry at CBS, not at the woman who has made this fandom so much more just because she's a gracious and humble human being.
Ok, rant over. I think. Sorry for those of you that feel like stoning me for speaking out. Or those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about and just took up an eighth of a page of your flist.
