These are all fics with fewer than ten saves on delicious that I feel deserve to be read more widely. Ratings given are mine, not necessarily the authors'. It would be awesome if this became a meme--I'd love to read other people's obscure favorites.
Katabasis by tei (Dustverse, Grace gen, PG)
This time she doesn't stumble as she is pushed ceremonially through the gate. She looks around her, astonished by the size of reality.
in plain sight by
dear_monday (Sherlock, John gen, PG-13)
The army. Naturally. Where better to hide him? A man with surgeon-steady hands and no conscience could do awfully well for himself there.
Never Been There by
verbyna (Bandom, Ryan/Brendon, PG-13)
It’s the least he can do for Brendon when Ryan’s own dreams are so contained. A stage can be taken apart, a song broken down to notes and words. All of Ryan’s stories fit into three people and a van of instruments. Brendon used to have so much more, but he gave it up for a reason.
Five Ways Fujiwara no Sai Might Have Existed (And One He Did) by
umarekawareru (Hikaru no Go, Sai gen, G)
Shindou Heihachi looks at Sai and both sigh in unison. “We’ll go there later, Hikaru,” Heihachi quells the child, reaching out to slide open the door to Touya Kouyo’s Go salon.
Dubious Consent by
aris_writing (House, Wilson/House/Chase, NC-17)
"Okay," House said sharply, suddenly on a new tack, "he wants you to fuck him while he's out. And if you don't, I'll do it, and I won't be gentle with him."
These Aren't The Droids You're Looking For by
novembersmith (Star Wars/bandom fusion, Patrick & Gerard gen, PG)
“Everyone says that,” Gerard said, sounding baffled. “I’m not that weird, I just think the Council’s gotten a bit hidebound, you know? We gotta be flexible, that’s what the Force is all about. We’ve all got this connection to life, to everything around us. It’s the same underlying Force, there’s no reason we all have to connect with it the exact same way.”
