Week One, Day Two: HURT.
And here I thought the weather would be the challenge. It was cold and wet - two things that I spend most of my adult life trying to avoid at all costs, so I was proud of myself for getting out and running.
Ten minutes in, my calves and shins were screaming at me and I forgot all about the weather. The Brisk Walk sections rapidly devolved into Brisk Limp sections.
Twenty minutes in, I seriously couldn't decide if I wanted to puke or cry and settled instead into a panting Little Red Engine mantra of I Can Do This, I Can Do This.
My relationship with the podcast voice-over guy is becoming quite dysfunctional already -
Him: "You should be feeling the effects now, but not be out of breath."
Me: "Oh shut up!"
Him: "You're almost done!"
Me: "You said that ten minutes ago. LIAR!"
Him: "This might be a bit of a push..."
Me: "I hate you..."
Him: "Congratulations! You've reached the end. Now, it's time for the cool down."
Me: "OMGILOVEYOU, let me have your babies!"
We're gonna be close. I can tell.
