Our local Sci-Fi/Fantasy Con was this weekend and we had a wonderful time hanging out with local friends, fellow Southern belle
schmootika and folks from the Nashville FanForce, our pals from the Arkansas FanForce, and my sister in fandom,
kayladie.
Tim, the girls and I also debuted our first family costume: The Incredibles.
Here we are:
These costumes were a blast! The girls did terrific: striking a pose every time someone asked for a pic and holding the pose until the photo op was over. (Which was impressive, considering how many times we were asked for pictures, lol.)
For the late night Masquerade/dance party, I wore a Dark Phoenix costume. It's comic-based and I’m not familiar with the X-Men comics, so when someone asked what “phase” my Phoenix costume was, I thought: “Um…she has phases?” Guess I should research that a little if I ever wear it again, LOL.
On the non-costuming front, Tim was part of a Star Wars panel with KOTOR author, John Jackson Miller. I'm not very familiar with KOTOR, but it turned out to be really interesting. I love hearing about the process of writing for Star Wars and working within the LFL franchise. Mr. Miller was very personable and entertaining and made me want to go buy some KOTOR comics to read his story. :)
Now I’ve GOT to get busy on some Mara costumes for Celebration. Two more months!
