So, Carina and I were discussing a few days ago whether illegal immigration would be brought up in regards to the swine flu. Her contention was that the epidemic would provide fodder for those who want to punish the illegals. (Punishment being different from the demands of justice in this case.) I suggested that, rather, it appears that those who have transmitted the disease from Mexico to the U.S. were vacationers and businessfolk returning from Mexico, as is the possible cases here in Utah. I hoped reason would reign.

Sadly, Carina's take appears to be correct, as MSN reports.

I still hope that sanity prevails. I also hope this flu epidemic turns out to be no more dangerous than the usual flu.
