Pre-election Reflection(s)

If Feingold loses the primary in 2008, I'm voting for a third party. I had actually been thinking about voting for McCain, but he lost me when he visited "Liberty" University and hung out with Jerry Falwell.

But, see, now you're buying into the Republican game. All of this nonsense about her being "frigid" or "plastic" in public is garbage that the Republican press has been trying to pin on her, because they can't deny that she's hugely popular in New York and has been a fantastic senator. As to the carpetbagging, 1) it's not all that uncommon in New York (remember RFK?) and 2) it's not that uncommon in the rest of the country: George Bush grew up in Connecticut, for God's sake. And as far as the Republicans "having a freaky field day," once again, that's the message that they themselves have been pushing to cover up the fact that they know that Hillary would be a really serious threat to them: remember, she stands for the Clinton years, when everything was a hell of a lot better than it is now. And all those people who hate her guts are people who were never going to vote Democrat anyway - what she's shown over and over again in New York is that she's *very* good at getting undecided people to like her. So let's be good and fight the Democratic disease of self-doubt and second-guessing; as a party we've been begging Hillary to run for President since 2000 - don't let's send her into oblivion just cos we're too worried about making Republicans happy.

And as far as McCain, for all his "maverick" bullshit, look at his voting record: he's one of the most conservative people in the Senate.
