*blows dust off of journal* Hello? *echoes*Hello... hello...

Right. Leave it to PotC to bring me back to this place. Is anyone still around?

Anyway... leave it to Captain Jack Sparrow to make me feel reminiscent and a little homesick for my old LJ family. I don't have much battery left, but I thought I'd give a short review of the new movie. Don't read it if you haven't seen the movie yet. I won't be including major plot points, but there are still bits that the lot of you would probably consider spoilery, if I remember our common interests.

So... I actually really enjoyed this movie. It felt a lot more like the original than DMC & AWE. But I mourned Norrington constantly. I want them to find a way to bring him back, darn it, but I just don't see that happening. *sigh* Guess I'll have to stick to fanfic.

...I was SO, so excited, though, when I realized they'd not only brought back Groves, but GILLETTE. OMG, Gillette. I squealed repeatedly. I was so happy that my dear naval boys were back together again! The slashing could continue!

But then--! (beware of spoilers here) ...They had to die? They both had to die? Seriously? That almost ruined it for me. I dwell on those little deaths way too much. Or... little deaths as far as "normal" people would be concerned. *sigh* It's not fair. And that was an awful way to end it for Gillette, especially.

...There is a slight chance I'll dust off my fic hat after this. Grovette deserves to live on as much as Norrington, dammit.

And now that I've gotten that out, I need to go. Battery dying and all that. But I'll try to actually come back around. ...In the event that anyone reads this at all.
