too much listening, not enough living

I totally forgot how much I like this band!  Lately I've been on an Obscure 90's Band kick, I guess, and it reminds me of middle school dances, lol.  Those were the WORST.  *cringe*

So anyway, today is National Coming Out Day, and everyone on campus is wearing rainbow pins.  Oh, you hippies and your...homosexuality.  XD  New Paltz is kind of known for this type of thing- what with the mayor marrying same-sex couples and all- so I guess people get really into it.

So to celebrate, I (naturally) decided to write some slash!!  XD  It's just me being silly, don't you worry non-slashers.  Even though Harry/Ron totally squicks me out (I'm a Harry/Cedric or Harry/Draco fan, if you must know...) this drabble really just wrote itself...

“I need to tell you something…”

Hermione looked up from her Arithmancy textbook with eyebrows raised, waiting for Ron to continue.

“I’ve been hiding something from you,” he went on, fidgeting and not meeting her eyes.  “About me and Harry.  It’s going to sound a little…unexpected.”

Hermione’s eyes widened and she looked around the common room to make sure no one was listening in.  She had noticed them acting differently lately, but couldn’t admit to the rising suspicions she had about the nature of their relationship.

“It’s just that, well…we didn’t mean to lie to you.  And I really like you- as a friend, I mean- and I feel like I should tell you the truth.”

Hermione held her breath, waiting for the bomb to drop.  If Ron and Harry were lovers, that ceased her chances- however slim they already were- of being with Ron.  Still, she was glad they could trust her enough to come out to her.

“You see…” Ron paused, meeting Hermione’s gaze.  “We didn’t actually do that essay we told you we finished.  We practiced Quidditch instead.  Can I see yours?”

Hermione blushed furiously, but couldn’t help but laugh at Ron’s actual confession.  Shaking her head, she dug around in her bag for the neat parchment role of her Potions essay.

“Thanks, you’re a life saver,” Ron said as she shoved the paper into his hands.

Word Count: 230 (ok, so a bit more than a drabble, but whatev)

Bwahahahaha, I just couldn't help myself!  XD

Ok, that's all for now.  I might post again later, but first I must play Animal Crossing/study for English Lit./eat second-dinner/watch Lost, so don't hold your breath or anything, lol.
