everyone does these once in a while...

Nobody ever had a dream round here
But I don't really mind that it's starting to get to me
Nobody ever pulls the seams round here
But I don't really mind that it's starting to get to me

I've got this energy beneath my feet
Like something underground's gonna come up and carry me
I've got this sentimental heart that beats
But I don't really mind ( Read more... )

Ummm...The Killers rule! And anyone who disagrees...well, I shake my head at them. Even my boss liked them (mentioned that I listen to them a lot at work, and wanted to know their name).

As for uploading sites, I really like SendSpace (especially for multiple files, Box, MegaUpload, and on occasion MediaFire.

And for downloading I use LimeWire. This is actually a much frowned upon service amongst the techy elite (or so I've been told). But I haven't figured out torrents (I just need to sit down and keep trying). And apparently there is one torrent site that is soooo hoity-toity you need an invite. I think I might have an in from my cousin (if it is the site he uses). Anywhositis, if I ever wrap my head around torrents, AND get in to the exclusive site, I will totally invite you. XP

Okay, I think I got the HTML right this time. D'oh!

Ooh, I'm glad there's someone else who just doesn't get sick of them! :D

Hmm, I shall check those out and play around a bit. We actually aren't allowed to use LimeWire and the like on the campus network, they can trace it and if you get caught they shut off your internets! D: But, apparently they don't look for torrents so I now use sites like Mininova to download whole albums. But you need to run torrents through a program like Bit Comet (which is what I use). It was confusing at first, but once a computer-savvy friend showed me how to use it, it's easy-peasy. :P

Oh pshaw, I mess up html all the time! Is it sad that it's only because of LJ that I even know it in the first place?? XDD

I have to remember to bring my laptop the next rare occasion where I leave the house and hang out with someone who knows all about Torrents. And I will have them not just set it up, but teach me. I had someone set up my DVD burner when I first got this laptop, but then two years later when my computer crashed and I had to reinstall everything and was totally lost. I want free movies dammit!!! :P

I feel like that character that was on Mad TV a few seasons back, who always screamed "I DON'T GET IT!....I DON'T GET IT!!!!"

LJ is where I've gotten most of my HTML knowledge too. I did run a crappy site on GeoCities back in high school when I was grounded from TV, where I learned the basics. So....it's my mom's fault for the internet addiction! I'm blameless!!!! XD

Hahaha, I blame my internet addiction on my mom too, because we had dial-up for so long that when I finally got high-speed I discovered a whole new internet world full of slashy wonderful things. XD

There is absolutely nothing wrong with music obsession.
*is one of those people who listens to the same song on repeat all day* >>;

As for sharing: I'm not a big fan of torrents or unnecessary downloading, but if you want to share embedded files, a good one to use is iMeem. They used to let you stream whole songs, but these days it's 30 seconds only for non-members.
I also used to make flash-based playlists through Radio Blog Club, which were pretty neat I thought. :3

Haha, I do that too! I always blast it when I'm alone, but resort to headphones when others are home so that I don't appear crazy, lol. :P

Hmm, I will take a look at these. I usually don't download torrents too much, because I like to support my artists and/or movie makers by buying the real album/dvd. But sometimes it's rare/expensive/I'm stuck in a town with no entertainment store. XD

The way I see it, if I like an artist/band enough, I'll go buy their album so that I can have their songs in good quality and show my support. I'm okay with pirating music if the artist only has one song that I like, though. xP;

Mostly I don't like to torrent because I'm very anal about keeping my computer free of nasty viruses, and I don't want to get in trouble with campus internet security people either.

...BTW, if I hadn't said it before, do you have any idea how much I love your icon and that it sort of matches mine? xD;

This is true, I've had some verrry bad and expensive virus experiences probably caused by downloading. I don't pirate nearly as much as I used to. :P

Heehehehe, I picked it because I thought it matched a bit!! It's one of my favorite scenes from Scrubs. :DD
