Gypsy Moon
Have some new lesson horses at the stable and had the chance to ride some of them the last couple of weeks.
Moon (Spanish Moon) is a lovely mare with a nice trot and an even better canter. One of the nicest I’ve ridden. She’s a small mare, almost pony sized so I don’t know how much I’ll ride her. Great personality. A little sassy.
Gypsy is a gelding and they warned me he’s a little lazy and really needs to be pushed but I didn’t have any problems with him. His trot is very bumpy but he has a great canter that makes up for it. He’s 21 years old and I found that if you give him some play with his head he’s a lot smoother (and happier) even if he isn’t as pretty in his head set. For his age he’s in great shape, we did a lot of canters and he wasn’t even breathing hard.
There’s still a couple of new horses I haven’t tried yet so we’ll see if I get a chance on those the next few weeks.
