Hollywood Ruins Another Good Story
So yesterday I went to see The Seeker which is based on Susan Coopers The Dark is Rising. After seeing the previews I didn't exactly have high hopes for the movie mostly because they had modernized it. As it turns out the modernization wasn't that bad but the directing was. Sure it had some cool special effects but they completely butchered the story and chopped it into little pieces that I can't imagine would make much sense to anyone who hadn't read the book. They distorted the story so badly I think they will be able to make any of the sequels. The theater was pretty much empty (5 people) and the movie opened on Friday so I doubt they have plans for sequels anyway. I am very disappointed to say the least.
