McCain, you're serious? And no, Obama, stop asking me for $!

Yesterday while campaigning in Davenport, Iowa, John McCain said:
"Rather than answer his critics, Sen. Obama will try to distract. . . He has even questioned my truthfulness -- and let me reply in the plainest terms I know: I don't need lessons about telling the truth to the American people. And were I ever to need any improvement in that regard, I probably wouldn't seek advice from a Chicago politician."
Wait wait what?

Okay, so McCain says "I don't need lessons about telling truth to the American people."

But but. He lies. A lot. The Democrats say he has lied 134 times. And here's an article from September, before all this mudslinging started in full force, about McCain lying a lot. So I'd argue he kind of does need lessons about how lying is kind of unethical.

Unless he does know that lying is unethical and is still doing it anyway meaning he doesn't need lessons because he doesn't care omg.

::facepalm::

Lately, I've been getting a LOT of emails from the Obama campaign. I really don't know how this happened since I am independent and not a registered Democrat (sorry, I'd rather not tie myself down to a political party thank you very much.) Sometimes I even get emails from Obama. They are all about the same thing.

Dear Marissa--

In these final three weeks, our opponents are signaling they will do whatever they can to distract voters and distort the truth, so we need to redouble our efforts.

...Your donation of $5 will become $10, $25 becomes $50, and $50 becomes $100. Double your impact by making a matched donation today.

...We only have 22 days left. Help this campaign finish as strong as we started. Make a matched donation today.

Thanks,

Barack
Also:

Marissa --

...If you agree that we need to cut taxes for 95% of working families, reduce health care costs, and end the war in Iraq responsibly, then I need your help right now.

...The time to make a difference in this election is running out -- please make a donation of $5 or more right now.

Thank you,

Barack
I am getting these emails like, once a week. Barack--may I call you that? You sign your letters so intimately--uh, is starting to remind me of like, a shady distant relative who keeps asking for money. Or like, that one month where my dad kept calling me and asking "So...you have a part-time job at the library now? Will you buy me a computer with your earnings?"

...yeah.

No Barack I am not giving you $5 but I will give you my useless California vote. I did donate $1 to Sarah Palin (I can explain! I can explain!) for a button that I promptly defaced. I am grateful to Sarah Palin because hating everything she stands for has almost become therapeutic for me. I do not know how I will be able to take eight or even sixteen years of her in the White House; I suppose one day I might just spontaneously combust into a fireball of loathing.

Lastly, this Saturday at a rally some of Sarah Palin's fans were standing too far away to hear her voice. They began to chant for her to speak louder and she mistook them for protestors and delivered a deliciously passive aggressive snit.

"I hope those protesters have the courage and honor to give veterans thanks for their right to protest"
Like, totally.

Sarah Palin is so awesome. If only I were as awesome as her, then I could be Vice President. Then I would be good at making passive aggressive snips, too.
