Mighty sick with a cold so I'm not sure if this review truly does "The Evil of the Daleks" justice. I took around 40 screen captures, which can be found here

Yes!!! What a kick ass review! This is, without a doubt, one of the best DW serials there ever was and finding out that a copy of it has been discovered in the back of someone's closet somewhere would be like finding the holy grail.
This story was when I realized just how much the Second Doctor is EVERY doctor. At first I couldn't see the darkness in him, the manipulative nature that so many of the later Doctors have in spades. But here...holy crap. I was actually horrified at what he put Jamie through and how much he was willing to risk without demonstrating a shred of remorse or regret. Totally, totally chilling and SO much the Doctor. Complex, magnificent, brilliant bastard that he is.
I found it particularly affecting given what we know about the time war and Nine's reaction to the Daleks having survived. The relationship between the Doctor and the Daleks, his absolute hatred of them and his willingness to commit the genocide of his own people to wipe them out is, in my opinion, one of the most terrifying and amazing aspects of DW. And the fact that even Two, who comes across as arguably the most whimsical, idealistic, and caring of the Doctors will do monstrous things to destroy them gives me shivers. God, what a brilliant story.
Who wouldn't want to make out with Jamie?
And that, my friend, is the eternal question. I honestly can't imagine a single soul. ;-)
What a brilliant reply! Thank you so much. This absolutely cheered me help and help me forget about this wretched old cold.
It truly takes you aback seeing the Doctor's darker side reappear (all thanks to David Whitaker, I'm sure) and it creates some wonderful drama between Two and Jamie. I can only imagine how much Pat and Frazer enjoyed sinking their teeth into such meaty material.
How I wish the missing six episodes could be found; actually I'd be over the moon if Episode 6 turned up for the reveal of the Dalek Emperor alone!
