"If you don't like it, then why do you watch it?"

Probably my biggest pet peeve at the moment is that phrase. And I've been reading it quite a lot lately. Especially since Doctor Who fandom pretty much imploded over the series three finale. It's as if one can not have a negative opinion without being torn to shreds by other fans. We've come to expect so much from our favorite show that when a story is aired that is obviously poor in every way, shape and form, it hits us where it hurts. We want Doctor Who to be the best it can possibly be, not be presented as a hackneyed script filled with tired cliches, cop-outs and general dreck all around.

You might like what you see and that's wonderful and snaps to you. But when I see my favorite show turned into a pale shadow of itself and I express distaste, that's no reason to jump on someone's back any more than I would jump on yours for having a difference of opinion. Every one's not going to like the same thing, plain and simple. Try to play nice, OK?
