Doctor Who goodness!
Been meaning to post about these but I've waited till I could get my thoughts together - believe me when I say that's a chore!
The Invasion
Brilliant DVD! One of the best ever put together in terms of quality, extras, etc. The animated missing episodes were fantastic - much better than I anticipated. I will gripe a bit about the continuity cock-up regarding Zoe's costume in Episode 1 though; I don't know why the animators didn't put her in the sparkly catsuit she was wearing in "The Mind Robber" (from which this story continues on from) but it's a minor quibble in an otherwise excellent and innovative way of bringing the missing episodes back to life.
Also, it must be said that the existing episodes have NEVER looked better! The Restoration Team outdid themselves cleaning up the picture and sound, and it really felt as if I was seeing the story for the first time. Great job!
Blood of the Daleks
Since WhoNA had the first new Paul McGann audio for a good price, I couldn't pass it up. Very good stuff! Mostly a rehash of the Patrick Troughton classic "The Power of the Daleks" with a twist. I really liked Sheridan Smith's Lucie and her verbal sparring with the Doctor was great fun. She was a breath of freah air after all that "But I love you, Doctor" rubbish. I'm looking forward to hearing more of the Eighth Doctor's new audio season.
