Bright Star and Agora
Spent a lovely afternoon with the girls today... and I have my eleven poster !!! :D
We exchanged our christmas gifts (received Doctor Who season 4 and the dvd of the Baron of Munchausen by the lovely tya_rc thx dear :D )
And some of us went to see Bright Star.
What to say about it... the acting was good, the making was good, but I don't know... it lacks something and I don't manage to point out what... anyway, i found it a bit cold. (but well Ben Wishaw was still awesome)
After I went (on my own this time because I really wanted to go XD) to see AGORA and OMG it was a great great movie... really better than I expected.
Rachel Weisz was wonderful, Max Minghella was really really cute and even the one who plays Orestes was great.
I thought it was some kind of love triangle peplum like but really really not. Of course, they are some love stuff, but this wasn't the point of the story. The main point was the intolerance, the ignorance of men. We saw all the wars in Alexandria first between Pagan and Christian and then between Jew and Christian... and it breaks my heart to see that in fact the world didn't evolve since then...
And we follow this woman, a philosopher, who only tries to make science in a world that falls apart...
There were some really harsh scenes, and the burning of the library totally broke my heart (and yes I cried a little).
So this movie really touched me and you really should go to see it !!!
Also... I finally saw Sherlock Holmes trailer on big screen and I was so mentally bouncing and so stupidly smiling that i think that I frightened the girl beside me XD *counting days*
