My, it's been a long time since I've updated. The end of my summer was pretty uneventful. I worked, hung out with friends, and spent time with my family. I moved back in to my dorm room last Sunday, and met my new roommate, Katie, for the first time. She seems to be nice, normal, and sane (all important qualities for a roommate, I think). My first week of classes wasn't too bad, even though I'm still nervous about Dr. Merrill, because I'm not quite sure if she likes me or not. One of my friends said that if I do my work, and come to class prepared I should be fine, though, but I'm still not convinced. Friday, Debbie & I went to go see John Tucker Must Die, and we also went shopping. I bought 2 pair of shoes and a new pair of pants that I can wear for teaching and observing, which is good, since I really have to start thinking about that stuff. Saturday I didn't really do anything, and then yesterday I went to the WEBN fireworks with Debbie & our RA, Ben. There were supposed to be other people from our floor there, but we couldn't find them, which isn't surprising when there are 500,000 people on the riverfront. The fireworks were pretty impressive, probably the best that I've ever seen. WEBN didn't hold anything back for the 30th anniversary, that's for sure. And, Don, you would have liked this, during part of it they played the Superman theme and shot off fireworks that took the shape of the Superman logo. But by far the most exciting thing that happened this weekend took place today. On Saturday, I got a call from someone at PetsMart asking if I could come in for an interview at 11 on Labor Day. So, I went there today, and the manager on duty asked me a few questions, told me he liked me, and that I'd like it there because the people are friendly, and said that I would have to go get a drug test, but that I got the job. So now I am the newest stocker at the PetsMart in Oakley. I'm probably going to be working 5-10 hours on the weekends, which doesn't sound like a lot, but I think that it should probably be enough with school. And if I feel like I need more hours, then I can just get a job at the Payless at the Cincinnati Mills mall, because they're hiring too, and I'm supposed to go to take a survey on Friday at 4. I'm not really sure that I would want to do that, especially during this semester. Well, it's time for me to go try to figure out something fun that I could do with a brown bag for my class tomorrow.
